Changing your last name-?

Want to change my name to Christine, no middle or last name wanted. Can this be done?

Why wud u want to change your last name to Christine thats not a good one it wud be most suited as a first or middle name.  Christine as a last name is out.  Besides how many people do u know with the last name Christine? Its most probably none.  Otherwise if u insist, go to your local home affairs office and get it done there but its gonna be one helluva process

Maybe. It would depend on the judge and the country.

Do you REALLY want to spend an extra 5 to 60 minutes every time you make a restaurant reservation, check into a hotel, apply for a checking account, fill out a job application, rent an apartment, sign up for [phone | power | garbage | Cable TV] service, enroll in a class, join a gym . . . trying to explain to the clerk that you don't have a last name?

It is your life. It seems to me you are intentionally lining yourself up for a load of trouble. If you want to suffer minor irritations daily, why don't you just buy two yards of pea gravel and put a couple of pebbles into your shoes every morning?
