  1. Not totally sure, but it depends on your ISP. If your ISP assigned you a specific IP, then no, you need to stick with your static IP. But if they didn't assign you a specific IP, then you are probably already using dynamic, and need to leave it that way for the internet to work.

Basically, I don't think you can. You're stuck with whatever your ISP gave you.

  2. Can't you do this in your routers settings?

  3. Your ISP assigns that IP to you....normally about every week or two they assign a different one........or your can release and renew at anytime.....it is actually a dynamic IP.... If you want a different IP each time you start the computer, then release and renew by using the 'cmd' prompt and ipconfig /release

    ipconfig /renew

if you do want a static your have to contact your ISP and pay for it......then its yours as long as you pay and want a static/specific IP address.  Static IPs are good for Virtual Private Networks, (VPN)..... you will always have the same IP address.

As for the others, your router assigns your internal IP addresses dynamically to each PC and/or connected equipment. i.e. 192.168.1.100 or 1 or 222 and so on.... you can also change these to be assigned without changing through your router settings.  If you need additional info or clarifications, drop me an email.
