Channel 4 TV series?

Question

There was a channel 4 tv series about a year ago, on late at night. Two men and a women, one black one white. It was a police type drama, american i think. They were police but went undercover as gangsters etc, i think there were actually criminals to begin with, one black one white. The women had a heroin addiction i think before she became a cop. Any ideas what it was called???
