Channel amp wattage???????

Question

with a 1000W 2 channel amp, with one channel powering a sub with 500W and the other channel powering 6x9's, does each 6x9 speaker recieve 500W each or 250W each? (short answers please) thanks

there is no real 1000 watt 2 channel amp. you are likely reffereing to a peak rating that has no real use. to answer the question i will say this, yes the 6x9's will share the power the amp puts out, HOWEVER hooking 2 speakers to one channel changes the load, and the amp will put out 2X or 1/2x the rated power depending on how you wire the speakers.
