Channel islands flyer surfboard?

i am just learning how to surf, i can stand up and ride white water and begining to ride small un-broken waves ......i am about 5'4" or 5'5" and wheigh about 93 pounds...is the flyer a good board for me??

  1. it depends i personally dont think its worth it since a flyer is about 600 dollars new? and it would be a waste for a beginner to buy one


  2. i wouldnt go for a flyer they are more expert level, if you really want a channel island board, go to a surf shop, get a used one. because they are the best, and then later you wont be spending alot of money on a new board, they you are just going to break

I'd say probably not.  They are pricey and are a high performance board.  You are going to want something that is a little more forgiving.  If you have a shop near you that shapes boards go in and talk to a shaper or at least somebody knowledgeable about the area and what would work best for you.
