Chapa Uno Hope Funds cheerful after upsetting La Aguada in the Argentina Open Polo Championship
In the first upset of the 2011 Argentina Open Polo Championship, Chapa Uno Hope Funds outplayed La Aguada BMW by 9-7, in the second match of the tournament that took place at the Cathedral of Polo, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
All the players of Chapa Uno are quite happy over the maiden triumph in the championship and termed it a result of outstanding teamwork.
Every member of the foursome spoke with the media after the match, sharing their views about the game.
Rodrigo Ribeiro de Andrade said that they had an idea about the difficulties they could face in the match against La Aguada. He, however, stated that they made a good start and an end that helped them in achieving their aims.
He observed, “I'm not sure. I think that as today they did not have Miguel playing, that made things hard for them, because they're used to playing the four of them together”.
In the next game, Chapa Uno will face Pilara Piaget. In his view, Pilara Piaget is a well-organised team and played a fantastic game against La Aguada.
He stated that they should not take any team for granted and expressed hopes for a better show in the next game.
Another Chapa Uno player, Pablo Pieres, expressed his views, saying that the victory was beyond their expectations. In his views, they did not even think about triumph.
They availed the opportunities they received during the eight-chukka course of play and emerged victorious, he added.
He further stated that they avoided mistakes and fouls in the game that also helped them in earning the victory over La Aguada.
Pieres continued, “Now we're going to rest the horses to see how they ended up, because we used very few of them, so we have to see how they are for next Saturday”.
Jaime Garcia Huidobro, the eighth goal handicap player, believed that they won the match as they availed all the opportunities.
In his opinion, the concentration and focus on the success had an assist in making the victory possible against La Aguada.
He underscored, “Yes, a great defence. We scored fewer goals today than against La Dolfina, but we had few fouls and I repeat this that is important”.
Huidobro stated that these results will help them in increasing their handicaps by next year. He, however, clarified that they will have to wait for that.
Besides working for the victory, they also provided the spectators a game full of thrill and enjoyment, he continued.
In his vision, the changed line-up did not work for La Aguada and they (Chapa Uno) built on the same advantage.
Without any doubt, the victory is a major achievement for Chapa Uno, but they will have to uphold their performance if they want to win the next game against Pilara Piaget.
