Chappel on an Island in France

In the spring i went to France and i went to this chappel thing kinda like on an island it was like a militarry place that was pretty much impossible to get into and there was like quicksand for miles, the only way u could get to the island was at low tide when there was a road leading to it any idea of the island or Chappel?
