Char-Griller Super Pro Problem

Question

This grill has a section that is supposed to tap out with a hammer so I can mount the smoker. I smacked it pretty good with a small machinist hammer and only began to bend the whole bottom section. I called the company and they said, "all the units have the cutout area just spot welded and [tap out easily). If anyone has an idea please let me know.ThanxDOC
