  1. I have a pair of T-Straps from Leo's Dance wear brand.  They are great, low heel and they weren't crazy expensive.  You can choose whether to get them with or without taps.  Hope that helps!

  2. Regardless of what you are using them for, (show choir dancing, acting, musicals etc.), using ballroom dancing shoes with suede bottoms are MUCH more comfortable and flexible than regular character shoes, and they are comparable in price to most character shoes.

I've had mine for 3 years now and have used them for about 3 shows a year, (including at least 2 weeks of rehearsal per show) and they probably have two more shows left in them. I LOVE THEM, and being 5'10", the lower heel is nice.

    Hope this helps!

  3. I've always worn the Bloch Cabaret. They're usually the ones that are required for professional stage work.

It takes awhile to wear down the buckle though.

    I hope this helps :)

  4. I use the Sansha Astoria, which has a 2.5 inch heel and is a ballroom shoe.

They also make a lower heel character shoe  the nana  http://www.sansha.com/ShowModel.php?id=7...

and the lorette  which has a very low heel

for character dancing   I prefer the moldau http://www.sansha.com/ShowModel.php?id=3...  they feel like ballet slippers with heels!

  5. Angelo Luzio (Toronto) makes wonderful character shoes

for dance and they sell rubber sole pieces to apply to the

    shoes for street wear.
