Characters for Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie?

I read a book a few summers ago and it was called Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie.

Can anyone recall the characters and maybe give a brief descriptions of them, I would like to try to remember it.

What I can remember is...

Jeffery - the little boy which had cancer and the brother of the main character

Steven: 13 year old, plays drums in the All-Star Jazz band,very gifted drummer, before his brothers illness lived a very average life, sarcastic sense of humor

Renee Albert: "hottest" girl in school, Steven has a HUGE crush on her, she starts to notice and associate with him after finding out about Jeffrey's illness.

Annette( I think that was her name...): one of Stevens best friends, very intelligent, and a gifted musician, has a soft spot for Jeffrey and seems to have a crush on Steven, talented pianist who aspires to go to Juilliard.

By the way, excellent book. One of my favorites still.
