Characters on The Hills...what do they do?

What do they supposedly do for employment? Do they actually work? Or are they all a bunch of spoiled trust fund kids with no jobs? I know the one girl who got the promotion obviously has a job, but what about the rest?

How do they all afford to drive Mercedes and Porches, etc? That one dude Spencer (the major doooshbag) drives a highly customized CLK-500 (?) probably an $80,000 car. Do they allude to how he has the means to own such a car at all in the show?? Sorry, haven't followed from the beginning, only seen like 2 episodes. Anyways, just wondering if they have earned their goodies or are just a bunch of silver spoons.

They're all employed except for Spencer Pratt (Heidi's boyfriend).  They're also each paid 10-75K per episode, so they can easily afford luxury cars.  As for their jobs, they each have fashion industry or promotional/music  industry jobs.

They sit there and look cute.  And I wouldn't be surprised but what they'll go out every once in a while when they need something and talk some guy with more money than brains into buying it for them in exchange for, well, you fill in the blank.
