Charger?? it broke off and plz help?

i have a lot of stuff in my vista computer so i don`t like using my old computer

here is my idea my laptops a compaq and my mom have a hp laptop

her charger works on my computer but what i`m scared of !!! WILL IT CRASH, BLOW UP OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT ??? PLZ HELP ME

I think it should be ok.

Turn it off.

Plug it in.

Give it ten minutes just as a tester then turn it on.
