My brother has an adapter that always lights up when it's charging the laptop, however today it didn't light up at all, and the laptop won't turn on. Is the adapter broken, or does the laptop have loose joints?

  1. In Best Buy, we trust.

  2. could even be as simple as the outlet your using just a thought but probably not

  3. Happened to me I had to have my charger at a certain angle for it to work though.

I sent it back and got i back within a week with a brand new charger for free.

I'd send it off otherwise the motherboard could get wrecked.

  4. it is most likely the charger bec it isnt lighting up, so you probably drained the battery out so the comp wont turn on. try using a different charger. if this still doesnt work, stores like micro center have a technical support department in which you can drop ff the laptop so they can diagnose the problem.

  5. Did you check the power to the outlet its plug in? Could be a problem, try plugging it into a different area. It could be a bad charger, if that is not the problem.

  6. Same happened to me

i sent mine off to tech guy and they gave me a new charger x

  7. maybe both

  8. Could be either.

  9. u broke, you joke

  10. it could be the battery, power adapter, or motherboard.

    is it on warranty still?

btw- the adapter only lights up when it's plugged into the wall - your computer should have a charging light to let you know it's running on ac power.  does it run if it's plugged in to the charger which is plugged into the wall? if so, does it shut off if the power cord comes out of the computer or unplugged from the wall?

it's an easy fix if you have a warranty - otherwise you have to buy either a battery or adapter and you can fix it yourself.  if its the motherboard - you most likely will need help... or just a new computer.

  11. i had the exact same problem a couple of days ago, it is most like that if the light isn't coming on anymore or it keeps making that beeping noise, that it is your charger. i could not afford another 100 $ charger so because i have be messing around with electronics since the age of 10 i made sure i unplug ed the charger from the wall outlet and the computer, wait for about 2 min, the i sliced open the wires from the cord, if you know were the short is, this is simple. take the wires out, then reattach them cleanly. after you do this apply electrical tape, then do the other one, make sure the wire are going to never touch, then plug it back up. your battery should start charging right away. if you don't want to take the Chance just go to target or best buy and purchase  multiplier
