Question:

Charging in soccer?????

I'm a goalie in soccer and when its me vs. the person trying to shoot i need to charge them. but when i see the feet flying i freeze up. ive seen this one goalie kicked in the eye and he started bleeding like crazy. how do i overcome this fear?

  1. go against it, SCREAM "KEEPER" everytime when you come out for the ball, have ur feet up high if the guy doesn't stop running when he heard u scream "KEEPER", Ref always on the keeper's side.  


  2. As  a goalkeeper, you objective is to cut  down the angle of visibility of the shooter.  You don't always have to come right up to the shooter.  Just come out far enough that they see less of the goal, and you will do your job, which is to stop them from scoring.  

    As for the feet, that's not what you should be watching anyway.  Keep an eye on the ball, and your fear of flying feet should diminish.
