  1. Well, I wouldn't call five hours a really long flight. Coast to coast westbound across the U.S. is longer than that. To me, a really long flight is, say, fourteen hours or more.

But anyway, no, I don't think the battery will last that long. But bringing your laptopn may not be necessary (and may not even help, because ITS battery may not last long enough. There may or may not be power outlets available on yoiur flight and, if so, they may or may not be available at YOUR seat. Check seatguru.com to see if power is available and if so what type of power port, so you can see if you have or can get an appropriate adaptor.

  2. movies will eat up ur battery but what i do on a 12 hour flight with a couple of movies on my ipod is use an airplane charger i bought from a little store( apple does no thave them) u connect a battery to one end and the other end to teh ipod and it charges it for u. IF not ull have to use ur computer :)

    Good luck :)

  3. It depends on the aircraft and airline. For example i knw Etihad's 340-500 have in seat power plugs. I don't personally think the iPod is gunna last that long.

    Have a safe flight...

  4. It depends on what airline, what aircraft, and what seat you are sitting in.

If you know the airline and what aircraft you are flying on you can use this website, http://www.seatguru.com, to figure out if your seat will have power points.  Power points are common in business/first class but only a few airlines have plugs in economy class, and only on longer range aircraft.

Also, some airlines don't use a regular power plug, you have to buy a special power adapter for it to work.  You can find out more about the different aircraft power plugs here, http://www.seatguru.com/articles/in-seat...

  5. im not sure if the battery will last long enough...but some airlines such as virgin america and nicer planes have outlets to plug your electronics into. your going to have to have an adapter for your ipod to be able to charge it through an outlet instead of a computer: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB051L...

if you don't think your battery will last and you don't have an adapter i suggest bringing your laptop. although laptops batteries usually do not stay 5 hours at a time...

you can always check with the airline you are going on to see if they have outlets. usually lines like American Airlines and Southwest don't....maybe on longer flights they do...such as overseas but for 5 hours probably not...
