Charities that you would donate to?

I am looking to add to my list of charitable giving, a list of my current charities fallows below:

*Human Rights Campaign

*ACLU

*Habitat for humanity

*National Trust for historic preservation

*Herburger Theater

*ASPCA

*State Parks & Rec.

What Charities would you donate to and join? Please explain your choice!

I donate to my local food shelf, the local Boys and Girls club and any time a student comes to my door selling something, I always buy whatever they have.

The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer foundation.

I really like Kiva.

Although you can donate to it, I like the fact that you can use your money to make micro-loans to struggling business people in developing nations. They pay you pack and then you can loan it to someone else.

So, it is like a donation that never ends, in a way.....

The local Children's Hospital.  They do a lot of good at the local level for children in need of health care.

The Heifer Foundation. Donates chickens, goats and the like to desperately poor families in 3rd world countries and gives them a chance to support themselves.
