i live in the uk and have decided that this year i would like to make a monthly donation to a charity. I am a student studying to be a primary teacher at university so i am on a very limited budget at a push i could probably afford up to £5 a month which isnt that much but i really cant afford anymore. I did want to sponsor a child but all the charities want at least £15 a month but i cant afford that. does anyone have any ideas or suggestions. any ideas will be appreciated thanks alot. x

  1. i give to the rspca - most people prefer to give to charities which help people but we really need to protect all those thousands of poor animals that are suffering - its so hidden.  i only give £5 a month to them so that would be fine.

  2. I have a site where you can give daily at no cost. It is http://www.thebreastcancersite.com  It is not just for breast cancer but includes four other charities including hunger, literacy and the environment.

  3. Here's a great website that won't cost you anything but your time:

    www.freerice.com

    Also,

    www.theanimalrescuesite.com

  4. There are a lot of charities that could use the monthly donation. I recommend donating to a smaller charity that would be happy to receive that a month. www.cashforcritters.org Cash For Critters is a nonprofit organization that raises money for wildlife rescue and rehabilitation. They are run by volunteers so that can assure you the money will go to help and not to those that run it.I know they could use your help. Please check out the site before you make a decision.

  5. before christmas i went shopping in leicester and just as i was coming from the train station i gave a women who was collecting for a charity £2. not much i know but seriously i felt good about myself for ages after that!

  6. Perhaps you can find a local charity that helps people either home or abroad?  My mum makes cards and gives the profits to a charity that helps kids in the Ukraine.  Decide what sort of charity you want to support and then do a local search.  There's lots out there.

  7. since you are studying to become a primary teacher, then you can do charity works by just offering your time in teaching less fortunate kids in ur place....in a way u can save money, enhance ur skills and at the same time make kids happy!

  8. Try www.risingfountains.org

You may email mathias Zimba directly through the site. They offer sponsorship and will take whatever you can give...

They are wonderful people (i help sponsor a school there)
