  1. 40,000 children go missing in China every year and it is because they are being abducted or sold because of the one child law--there is a shortage of girl babies because the females are being aborted--and residents have to get a permit to have a baby!  You would probably be better serving the child trafficking problem if you donated to someone local, we have the same problems in the United States.  Thank you for serving in our armed forces.

  2. I'm on here for the same reason- I wanted to see if the topic was one discussed on Answers after watching Dateline.  Even though it took a little searching on Dateline's website to find it, there's a link to an organization that helps people all over the world.  It's not just about human traffiking- it's about fighting all kinds of injustices.  They have a list of what various monetary donations will do.  It even lists $18,000 annually to pay for an IJM lawyer.  There are other sections on their site that talk about how to get involved, and there's one specifically for churches.  You can even become a prayer partner.  Here's what they offer as possible fundraising ideas.  I'm thinking about just approaching my extended family members to see if they'd like to go in on a donation with me:

    Events

        * Sporting Events: Run, bike, paddle, or even climb for the work of justice by having your friends and family support you for each mile. Or organize a tournament and have the entry fees benefit IJM.

        * Dinners: Host a dinner and invite your friends to learn about IJM and get personally involved by donating their resources to help the oppressed.

        * Book Clubs: Read Good News About Injustice or Terrify No More and set a financial goal for your group to raise.

        * Other Events: Use your creative talents and interests to support IJM through a fun event. Hold an auction, concert, film festival, yard sale, car wash, lemonade stand, play, or come up with a new, exciting idea that allows you to use your own gifts for this work.
