Charity leaflets through the post i have had a number of different companies are they real charity or fake?

I have had a number of charity companies send leaflets through my post for unwanted clothes which will be collected on a certain day at a certain. Are these companies real or bogus i have given away a number of times can some one help answer my question please Thank you for your time.

  1. If it is for charity it will have their registered charity number in the leaflet which you can check on the Net, most are scams these days, sad to say.


  2. if in adubt -dont give them any of your money.

    help a cause were you know for a fact it will go straight to those who need the money -like oxfam.

  3. You should check out all charities prior to giving to them.  I would suggest a quick internet search, the internet can make life easier. Some are real, some are fake.

  4. they should have a registered charity number on the leaflet.  Look it up online & see if they are legit.

  5. Hi check for a charity number, or call their office!

  6. Most seem to be scams, quite often they will copy each others leaflets, the telephone number will be a mobile or wander phone number, the address if any will be fake (even if it is registered at companies house) and the one I have seen with a charity number, the charity is registered by the aims and objectives make it seem rather dubious.

    The dodgy information makes them hard to track down
