Charl Schwartzel and Jason Dufner heading to Oz
Only a little time is left for the inauguration of the 2012 Perth International. The venue for this prestigious event is the Lake Karrinyup Country Club. The event is going to tee off on the 18th of October and being a four day event it would
end on the 21st October.
This tournament comes under both the PGA Tour of Australia and the European Tour and is the richest tournament in Australia with prize money of 2 million U.S. dollars. The biggest names in the world of golf are going to gather at one stage to fight for glory
in this event.
Two players have confirmed their participation in the Perth International. These two players are Charl Schwartzel and Jason Dufner. Both of them are looking forward to the event and are expected to play well.
Charl Schwartzel is a seven time European Tour winner. In an interview he said, "It has been a while since I was down in Australia for a Tour event, but I have always enjoyed the people and the culture there and the great sporting rivalry between our countries
in cricket and rugby”.
He was looking forward to the event at Lake Karrinyup Country Club and was hoping to have a good end to the tournament.
Dufner had a very successful year. He has been playing well throughout the year and is currently in good form. This year he has bagged the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and the HP Byron Nelson Championship and has other top seven finishes as well.
The American in an interview said, “I have a real affinity for Australia and have heard a lot of great things about Perth and Western Australia”.
“I am really looking forward to experiencing another part of Australia and hopefully I can continue my good play 'down under'. I am excited to have the opportunity to play in Western Australia for the first time and hope the community will really support
this new event,” he added.
Both the players are going to be under the spot light for the event and are hoping to impress the fans with their game.
