Charl Schwartzel will defend his four brides’ win at the Masters

Charl Schwartzel created history in the 2011 Masters, by making four consecutive birdies, on the last four holes of the final round.
The 27-year-old South African professional golf player amazed the spectators and fans worldwide, after registering an appealing debut win at the major event last year.
He displayed an amazing performance at the Augusta National Golf Club and scored 14-under 274. His enormous scoring in the final fourth round is a record.
Since 1983, no winner has made five consecutive birdies on the final five holes. Schwartzel was so close to achieving the glory, but at day-end he made four birdies from the 15th to the 18th hole.
There are only four players, including him, who closed the round with such impressive scores. All the field members and players also appreciated the hard work delivered by Schwartzel.
"It was an amazing way to finish," Lee Westwood said. "Especially with everything else that was going on that day. To stay that focused … you’re in the zone. You really don’t think about making birdies".
This was the best finish from the eight-time professional tournament winner, Schwartzel.
According to him, he made the right shots, with close observations on the greens, and these strokes ended under par.
“I think a lot is being made of the four birdies, and I mean to be fair, I'm not going to say I made four birdies," Schwartzel said.
“I'm not that type of guy. ... I feel that at that stage, I just executed the right golf shots at the right time. I was giving myself opportunities to make those birdies, and, you know, I put it down to”.
This is a live record. Schwartzel is renowned for such an amazing finish up till now. The competition increases every year and Schwartzel will defend his title from April 5 to 8, 2012.
There are many other competent players, in the current field of the Masters, desiring to win. Some include Luke Donald, Rory McIlroy, Lee Westwood and Tiger Woods.
Schwartzel’s performance this year is inconsistent. He played total five events so far, finished two among the top-5, one on T17 and missed the cut in last two PGA staged tournaments.
Hence, the South African has to be extra impressive at Augusta, so that he can defend his title in a better way.
