Charles B. Rangel, has 4 rent controlled apartments (one used as an office, that is illegal) and pays less then half market value.

This is considered a gift (not allowed) what do you think???

How can he say he is for the poor people when he is ripping them off???

And before you say it, if it was a Republican I would go after them as well.

When asked about it, he said “Why should I help you embarrass me?” he said, before abruptly hanging up. Does he not answer to the public???? Or are the people supposedly representing us only representing themselves???

  1. "Does he not answer to the public????"

The sad and truthful answer is no, he does not have to answer to the public.  Why?  Because the public does not demand it.  And don't look to the media, they're a joke anymore.  I've noticed an arrogance in government, like they are above having to account to the people for their actions.  And sadder still, just watch him get re-elected again and again.  That's where the arrogance comes from.  Why wouldn't they feel like they can do anything they want without being accountable?

  2. He's a Democrat. So nothing will be done. William Jefferson (Rep/D/LA) had one hundred thousand dollars of bribe sting money in his freezer in New Orleans when Katrina hit. Jefferson tried to strong arm National Guardsmen into taking him to his house. I have to assume it wasn't to get his pot roast. But they wouldn't take him.

He was re-elected (although it was widely reported he'd been stung) and will have served out a full term as US Representative. Last I heard Democrats were still holding hearings to see if ANY action should be taken against Jefferson.
