Charles Howell III and Bubba Watson will be opening the Tavistock Cup
Charles Howell III and Bubba Watson, of Team Isleworth, will be teeing off the 2012 Tavistock Cup on Monday, at 10:50am.
Both the players are feeling honoured, as they will open the current year’s episode on March 19.
Both are confident and competitive. They are in their full form and hopeful to deliver their best on the course.
The Tavistock Cup is being staged at the amazing Floridian site of the Lake Nona Golf & Country Club, Orlando.
The total purse is $2,170,000 and all the four teams will be competing against each other for the handsome figures.
The four teams that will compete in the two-day event are: Albany, Isleworth, Lake Nona and Queenwood. This will be the ninth episode of this event, as it was established in 2004.
On the other hand, Tiger Woods and Justin Rose are also in the same-day time slot and will be teeing off at the same time on Monday. They are in Team Albany, making the team’s position stronger.
The rest of the schedule includes:
Ben Curtis & Peter Hanson (Team Lake Nona) and Soren Kjeldsen & Paul McGinley (Team Queenwood) at 11:05 am.
At 11:20 am, Tim Clark & Ernie Els (Team Albany) and Thomas Bjorn & Adam Scott (Team Queenwood).
At 11:35 am, Sean O'Hair & Bo Van Pelt (Team Isleworth) and Ross Fisher & Retief Goosen (Team Lake Nona)
At 11:50 am, Robert Allenby & Daniel Chopra (Team Isleworth) and David Howell & Tom Lewis (Team Queenwood)
At 12:05 pm, Trevor Immelman & Ian Poulter (Team Albany) and Graeme McDowell & Gary Woodland (Team Lake Nona).
Lake Nona is the toughest team of the tournament, as it has won four times in total. Isleworth won three times and also competed well in the past.
However, there has been no victory for Team Albany and Team Queenwood so far.
Albany and Queenwood have been striving hard to record their first wins at the unofficial event since 2004. Their position is far better this year, due to the leading player’s appearance.
There are six players in every team. Woods, Rose, Ernie Els, Ian Poulter, Tim Clark and Trevor Immelman are in Albany, making the team’s position stronger this year.
Albany has ample chances to record its debut win this year, as all the six players are in full form and have displayed amazing performances at the PGA since January.
