The Burkinabe player has become a rejuvenated man under the tutelage of Elie Baup at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 and says that things have changed a lot under the 57-year-old
During the Didier Deschamps-era at Olympique de Marseille, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Charles-c8808 Kabore was a player that the former World Cup winner rarely had time form. Apart from cameo appearances, the versatile midfielder never really had the trust of
Deschamps.
However, the start to the 2012/2013 season has been a good one for the 24-year-old. The arrival of Elie Baup has been a good omen for Kabore who has started all 13 Ligue 1 games for the French giants so far this season.
And, calling the former Libourne man an indisputable starter under Baup would be an understatement. A few months ago, before Baup was named the new coach of Les Phoceens, Kabore was on the verge of leaving Stade Velodrome for pastures new.
While talking to L’Equipe regarding his situation under Deschamps, the player admitted that he was more of a luxury player but always took pride in wearing the colours of Marseille knowing that he is one of those few lucky men who are following their dream
of playing at the top.
“I was already proud of wearing the shirt and tracksuit with the club logo. It is important to realise how lucky we have been,” says the down to earth Burkinabe.
For long, the youngster would wonder what he needs to do in order to become an important member of Deschamps’ starting XI. And, there were also discussion with the former Juventus manager regarding his place in the side. Although he holds no grudge against
his former coach, Kabore still feels that Deschamps never really wanted him in the side.
“Of course I was wondering and I had discussions with the coach. Well, that didn’t change much.”
And since the departure of Didier Deschamps, Kabore has exploded into the scene. Getting some much-needed confidence from Elie Baup, the young midfielder is the lynchpin at the centre of the park and his coach has also highlighted his importance to the team.
“He is a very important physical player,” says Baup who would be hoping another assuring performance from his joker card as Marseille host http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 tonight.
