Charles N’Zogbia refutes claims of his strike at Wigan Athletic – EPL News

However, the French international has also reiterated his desire to leave the Latics in the current
summer transfer window.
N’Zogbia, who joined Wigan Athletic from Newcastle United, has been heavily linked with a number of English Premier League clubs including the likes Aston Villa, Sunderland and even his former club Newcastle United.
Aston Villa are reportedly leading the race for the Frenchman’s signature. The Villans see N’Zogbia as a perfect replacement of Ashley Young and Stewart, both left the Villans in the current transfer window.

The 25-year-old has asserted that he has given his best during his stay at Wigan Athletic and believes that it is the right time for him to leave the Latics. However, he also confirmed that he will not hand in a transfer request despite his ultimate wish
to leave the club. The French international believes that the decision to seek a higher transfer sum for him completely rests with the club.
“It has been two and a half years. I have given enough. If they want any more it is for the club to decide. It is not for me to demand a transfer.” He said
Rumours have suggested that N’Zogbia refused to take part in Wigan’s pre-season training as he wanted a move away from the club. However, the French international has refuted such claims and has revealed that he is training regularly with the Latics.
“Me, strike? Not at all. Come and see me at Wigan, you will see that I train every day,” confirmed the Wigan winger.
Moreover, the 25-year-old former Newcastle United player also revealed Aston Villa’s interest in him: “There was an offer from Villa, which Wigan refused.”
Furthermore, N’Zogbia also revealed that his departure from Wigan Athletic is imminent in the current transfer window as he just a year left on his contract and the Latics are yet to offer him the new contract.
“I have not been offered a contract extension by the club.” He concluded.
