  1. This happened to me when I was pregnant.  I hear that drinking more water, and eating more potassium helps.  So eat up those bananas!!

  2. Charlie Horses can be caused by dehydration, too much caffeine or too much booze as well as a deficiency of potassium (bananas), calcium (dairy products), magnesium (nuts) or vitamin B6 (dairy products).

  3. I happens to me when I'm pregnant.  When you stretch, don't point your toes down, point your toes up with your heel pushed out.  It takes practise to remember to do it, especially at night.  It'll help though.

  4. Charley horses or leg cramps are caused by low potassium levels in your body.  It happens a lot with athletes.  Increase your potassium intake.  If you do get a cramp, take your thumb and fore finger and pinch your bottom lip until the cramp subsides.  That has always worked for me.

  5. I get cramps in my feet. I told my doc and he said it might be lack of Calcium. He said many people when they get up there in years have charley horses and cramps because they need more Calcium. Also take Magnesium with it.

  6. Are you double jointed (Ehlers-danlos syndrome).  Those I know with it, including myself, have alot of leg & bottom of the feet cramps.  My family has learned through a doctor to do various muscle stretching excersies before bedtime.  It does help some.  It sure is painful when the toes feel all curly!
