Charleys Lucy set for a clean ride in Ladbrokes.com 835 at Monmore
Standing in the sixth trap, S. Aveline’s 3-year-old, Charleys Lucy, is all set for a clear passage out wide in the Ladbrokes.com 835, taking place at Monmore on Thursday, August 30th.
Confidence should not be an issue for the fawn b***h, who looked quite impressive last time out. The audience at Coventry saw her finishing second to Storm Pockets.
The daughter of Hondo Black was in total command at one stage, but failed to retain her advantage all the way through. As a result, she missed the first rank by one and a quarter lengths. A positive result came to her after an embarrassing loss, and it would
have given her plenty of confidence.
If the b***h manages to take an early advantage, she will be in a great position to get the better of Tynwald Tom, who is likely to earn the highest odds.
The clash will be started off at 19:54 GMT. The 835 metres race carries a prize worth £150. Alongside the aforementioned pair, the candidates are: Romeo Causeway, Head Iton Woodie, Barley Bussell and Ballymac Iniesta.
Tynwald Tom was disappointing last time, when finishing fourth behind Welton Arthur. However, the black dog is more than capable of picking up the pieces in a race of this nature.
Ballymac Iniesta gives the impression that a step up in trip will suit him. He recently made a couple of fine outings in defeat, but at the lower grade. Alongside an improved effort, he needs a lot of luck to ensure a good result.
Barley Bussell is a lightly raced type, and has shown ability on travels. The black b***h was last seen at Coventry, where she missed the crown only by three quarters of a length.
Romeo Causeway ought to bustle up the rivals at some stage. Head Iton Woodie takes time to pick up the pace, but will have to try something different to win this race.
Stamina is going to be the key in this long-distance race. The main clash is between Tynwald Tom and Charleys Lucy, and any inside crowding will help the latter’s cause. Good luck to all the hounds.
