Charlie Adam confirms his desire to leave Blackpool – English Premier League news
Blackpool midfielder, Charlie Adam, has admitted that he wants to leave the club. Adam’s comments come in the wake of Blackpool’s recent relegation from the Barclays Premier League.
Charlie Adam has been one of the brightest stars for the Seasiders throughout the campaign, and he earned a lot of attention for his performances for the club. Adam’s future with the Tangerines came under intense speculation in January, after it was reported
that a number of high profile clubs were in the hunt for his services, including the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, Aston Villa, and Tottenham Hotspur.
Manager Ian Holloway had steadfastly refused to part with Adam in the January transfer window, claiming that the sum being offered for Charlie Adam was far less than what he was actually worth. However, it seems as if Holloway will be unable to prevent Adam’s
departure from Bloomfield road in the summer. Blackpool finished in the bottom three in the 2010/11 Barclays Premier League campaign, which means that they will be competing in the npower Championship next season.
The Tangerines’ relegation looks to be the final nail in the coffin of Charlie Adam’s Blackpool career, as the midfielder has made it perfectly clear that he wants to compete at the very highest level of English football.
Speaking on his future plans, Adam said, “My future is that I want to play in the Premier League. I want to play at the top and hopefully the opportunity comes. At the end of the day, my future will get sorted one way or another. It's not me who makes that
decision. The club have been fantastic with me and since I went there, since day one, I've thoroughly enjoyed it.”
He added, “it’s important that, whatever happens, I will always remember my time at Blackpool.'
Blackpool manager, Ian Holloway, has still not given up hope of retaining his star. Adam was recently offered a 12-month extension on his current contract with the Tangerines, but it seems likely that he will snub that offer in favour of a chance to play
in the Premier League.
