Charlie Adam proud to be a Liverpool player – EPL News
Newly-signed Liverpool midfielder, Charlie Adam, has expressed his pride over making his debut for the Anfield side in the club’s friendly against Chinese second division side, Guangdong.
Adam completed his switch to Liverpool from Blackpool after being heavily linked with the Merseyside club for more than six months. Following the successful transfer, the Scotsman has joined the Reds on their tour of Far-East.
Despite not doing any pre-season training with Liverpool, Kenny Dalglish handed Adam his debut in club’s 4-3 win over Guangdong. The 25-year-old midfielder came in the second half and impressed hugely.
Dalglish has praised Adam’s contribution in the recent friendly and believes that the Scotsman will be a huge success at Anfield next season. For his part, Adam has told Liverpool’s official website that he was desperately waiting
for the opportunity to put on a Liverpool shirt.
He said, “It was nice to make my debut for Liverpool.”
“It was a good moment for me to put on the red shirt for the first time. As soon as I knew the opportunity to come to this club was happening I was delighted because I was desperate to come to this club,” added the Scottish midfield magician.
The 25-year-old Scotsman has thanked http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 director, Damien Comolli, for signing him up and has claimed that he is working hard to prepare for the next season.
He added, “I'm very grateful to the manager and (director of football) Damien Comolli for bringing me here and I just want to try to get fit for the start of the season now.”
Adam has insisted that all Liverpool players are working very hard for the upcoming term and has asserted that the Reds current squad have the strength and quality to challenge for the Barclays Premier League title.
“We will keep working hard and be ready for the start of the season,” Adam concluded.
