Charlie Adam wants http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 to improve further – EPL News
Influential Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam has expressed his contentment over the Reds recent 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion. However, the Scottish international believes there is still plenty of room for improvement in Kenny Dalglish’s team.
The Merseyside club triumphed at the Hawthorns after Charlie Adam and Andy Carroll scored to secure Liverpool’s fifth win of the ongoing 2011/12 Barclays Premier League season.
Dalglish’s men scored both goals in the first half, and Adam was happy with Liverpool’s performance in the first 45 minutes.
The Scottish international told the reporter, "I think in the first half, once you get the goal, it changes the complexion of the game.”
However, the former Blackpool captain was far from being happy with Liverpool’s display in the second half against West Bromwich Albion. The Reds were being dominated and failed to impress in the last half.
Adam has now urged his teammates to give it their all for full 90 minutes.
"But I thought first half we played well, second half, we never kept the ball as well as we should have, and it's something we'll have to get better at.”
Moreover, the 25-year-old also bemoaned Liverpool’s stalemate against Norwich City, in which the Reds had several chances but failed to kill off the game. However, Adam is happy that the Reds came out with three points.
“Last week against Norwich City we had numerous chances and we could have killed the game off but that's what happens when you play in the best league in the world.”
Adam has stated that Liverpool deserved to win against West Bromwich Albion and believes that the Reds can finish in the top four if they keep on improving their performances.
“We've done that a couple of times this year but I thought today we started the game extremely well and probably deserved to win in the end," Charlie Adam concluded
Liverpool are now placed sixth in the Barclays Premier League standings with 18 points to their name from 10 matches. The Red will play their next match against Swansea City at Anfield.
