Charlie Batch or Big Ben: Baltimore Ravens say will face off Pittsburgh Steelers – NFL News
The Baltimore Ravens do not know who they will be facing, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger or veteran Charlie Batch, when the Pittsburgh Steelers visit M&T Bank Stadium to play second game of the season against the opposition, but the Ravens claim they have
been preparing for the forthcoming game keeping both offence leaders in mind.
Batch has joined the Steelers recently to rescue their offensive line, which has lost two key players – Big Ben and Byron Leftwich. With Batch presently confirmed starter for them in the next game, Ben has recently hit the field, taking part in a limited
workout. It is not hundred percent that Ben returns to action this weekend, as he sees himself as questionable against the ambitious hopes of the team.
Amid the uncertainty, the Ravens are preparing for the visitors on their end and have played down that their preparedness can be affected by the confusion who they will play against.
Safety Bernard Pollard said:
"We really don't care who lines up at quarterback. They're going to try to win whoever's under centre. If Ben plays, I know what kind of competitor he is. This guy is probably one of the strongest quarterbacks in the National Football League and one of the
most competitive, him and Philip Rivers. But when it's all said and done, whoever lines up, lines up. We have our own situation to take care of. We really don't care."
Coach John Harbaugh said:
"We'll do the same thing we did last time and the same thing we do every week: We'll prepare for their offence."
The game is important for both sides. The Ravens with a win will be through to the playoffs. They are already in control of American Football Conference (AFC) North. Also, they are one win up against the Steelers, since the latter have lost their home game
a week earlier.
For the Steelers, it is a must-win situation if they want to stay on the course to the playoffs. The Cincinnati Bengals have edged past them and another couple of losses will throw Steelers out of the playoff race.
