Charlie Brenneman: I will admit my fallacy if Erick Silva proves his judo is real deal – UFC news
Charlie Brenneman, the surging mixed martial art brawler, in a recent pre-bout press conference commented that he will see in the octagon whether Erick Silva’s judo and jiu-jitsu are a real deal or not adding that he will admit his fallacy regarding Silva
for not being a better man.
The temperature between the two camps is rising with every passing hour as the duo is scheduled to take on each other at UFC on FX 3: Demetrius Johnson vs. Ian McCall pay-per-view.
Both men will meet at the octagon set up at BankAtlantic Center situated in Sunrise, Florida, United States. The showdown will be televised live on June 8, 2012 and will also witness the non-title main event bout between Ian McCall and Demetrius Johnson.
Charlie recently gave a short interview and shared his thoughts about the upcoming clash with Silva. Also known as ‘The Spaniard’, Charlie has been in a total 18 mixed martial art bouts and boasts 15 wins.
The Pennsylvania proud has nailed five of his opponents by knockout, two by submission and eight by either split or unanimous decision. Brenneman basically follows the grappling or wrestling stance in fact it was this speciality that aided him in making
his due place at UFC’s welterweight roster.
While commenting about Silva, Charlie stated, “If he’s the better man and proves me wrong, I’ll have no trouble saying that I was wrong and he was much better than I thought. We’ll find out real quick if his black belt judo and jiu-jitsu is the real deal.
I promise I will put that pressure on him early.”
Charlie bashed Silva for being a guy who has been in the sport for a long time but was unsuccessful in building himself a respectable place in the sport and the division. Brenneman remarked, “He hasn’t really proven that much in the UFC, however, if you
hear the talk it sounds like he’s the next Anderson Silva. So I’d like to put a halt to that freight train.”
Silva, Charlie’s Friday night opponent, has been in a total 15 mixed martial art bouts and emerged victorious in 13. The Brazilian pounder has nailed three of his opponents by knockout, seven by submission, and another three by decision.
The bout will definitely be an exciting one since both men follow the same wrestling or in other words the ground game style. Therefore it will be a tough but patience-testing brawl in which the man with the toughest grip will win.
