Charlie Jackson: Manchester United lure five-year-old wonder-kid away from Manchester City
In a surprising move, Manchester United have signed what their scouts have referred to as the future superstar of English Football. And by future, we mean the very far future. Charlie Jackson is just five years of age. No, that is not a typo.
Scouts found him in the Greater Manchester area, playing at Footytotz, a local football scheme. They were left spellbound by his innate ability to control the ball almost as if it was a part of his body. This happened two years ago.
Yes, he was 3 (three) then. See how I wrote that out in words for you?
When most kids are still figuring out how to walk, Charlie has already mastered the art of ball control and dribbling with the ball. He’s already out impressing Manchester United scout- wait. He’s already impress(ed) United scouts, something every boy in
the world dreams of doing all his life.
Recently, United offered the kid a chance to train with the United first-team. And Charlie declined. Apparently, the whole family supports United rivals Manchester City and wouldn’t ever dream of having anything to do with the red half of Manchester.
Five minutes alone with his father and Charlie was wearing the devils’ shirt.
Accountant Andy Jackson said: "His idols are http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mario-Balotelli-c23937 and at first he was mortified at training with United. He didn't want to go.”
"Eventually I had to tell him, 'Look, we'll let United train you up. Then when you're really good, you can go to City'.”
As morally confusing as this statement is, Charlie is now attending training regularly with Manchester United.
"Now he trains with United every Wednesday. He started school in September, but when he plays football it's like the ball is stuck to his foot.” – said Charlie’s father.
"He loves training with the club now. Everywhere we go people just stand and watch. They can't believe he's only five.”
While critics speculate as to how scouts could’ve judged the footballing abilities in a 3-year-old, Charlie continues to work with the United staff and develop his marvellous talent. If what they say is right, then Charlie still has at least 10-12 years
of training left before he can play for the first-team. That’s a lot of training. With 10-12 years of training with United, I’m sure even Bob from Fight Club (R.I.P) could’ve become a really good striker.
At five, the kid is a part of Manchester United. His future looks pretty much perfect, and with a name that promises celebrity-status, Charlie Jackson is already automatically cooler than you.
United have been known to sign toddlers now, having spotted and signed Rhain Davis when he was 9 years of age, four years ago.
Charlie Jackson’s signing is still in no way the youngest signing made for a professional football player. 18-month old Baerke van der Meij was signed by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VVV-Venlo-c40915, on a ten-year contract. The Dutch club signed the infant following a YouTube video that went
viral, showcasing Baerke’s skills with the football, as he kicked them with supreme accuracy into his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Toy-c35496 chest.
