Charlie Lister is keeping his fingers crossed for the upcoming events of 65th East ANGLIAN Greyhound Derby
Trainer Charlie Lister’s young champ is in urge to win the finals of 65th East ANGLIAN Greyhound Derby, making his way into the second round of the 65th East ANGLIAN Greyhound Derby on the 3rd of September, 2011, at Yarmouth.
With his superb run the two-year-old proved himself as a real go getter. As he started his chase from trap 5, he became a tremendous threat for the rest of the five contenders.
From the beginning of the race the white and blue dog railed swiftly through his competitors, suddenly when he covered half of the distance he got bumped from his tough draw in five.
The brave champion handled the situation in a perfect manner, he greased his elbows and ran tremendously leading the race, the lucky dog caught every one’s eyes as he reached the wire and won the purse.
Westmead Hawk’s son out of Rising Angel covered the 462 meters distance in 27 minutes and 74 seconds.
The winner of the 7th and the final heat Taylor Sky was a tough competition for trainer F W Lenton’s Confident Martin who finished second in the race.
As the trap 1 opened the black and white dog railed through rest of the hounds with an impressive speed, as Taylor Sky got bumped it gave Confident Martin an opportunity to move ahead him, but unluckily the two-year-old got baulked and was left 7 lengths
behind when Taylor Sky crossed the wire.
Son of Crash out of Costly Flight May, Confident Martin covered his distance in 28 minutes and 30 seconds, he was shoulder ahead than the black dog Verdun Richie, who reached the finish line 1 second late then Confident Martin.
The two-year-old Verdun Richie started his chase from trap 2, trainer R V Brain’s hound was baulked in the beginning of the race, but he managed to rail and ran on until he reached the wire. Covering the distance in 28 minutes and 31 seconds the young dog
stood third in the race.
Freds Champ a black dog was 1 ¼ lengths behind Vendun Richie, starting his chase from trap 6 the two-year-old covered his distance in 28 minutes and 41 seconds and finished fourth for trainer C Allsopp.
Trainer B Green’s two-year-old Everglade who was 1 length behind Freds Champ finished fifth in the race. The black dog started his chase from trap 3 and covered the distance in 28 minutes 49 seconds.
The last one to reach the wire was Ballybunion Ace, the black and white dog covered his distance in 28 minutes and 64 seconds.
Taylor Sky has qualified for the second round of the 462 meter race, his trainer is expecting to see him in the semi finals and then in the final where he will win the purse of £12,000.
