Charlie Lister’s Taylor Sky Claims the Ladbrokes Golden Cup Final on Friday, 26th August
Charlie Lister’s greyhound Taylor Sky won the Ladbrokes Gold Cup Final on Friday afternoon. The greyhound won prize money worth a thousand pounds in the finals.
Taylor Sky broke into a run the second his trap was open. It was a one dog race as Taylor Sky had the lead of the race right from the beginning.
He finished the open race in a minimal time of 27.80 seconds across the 480 meter race. His running space was twice the normal running rate of a greyhound.
Taylor Sky is undoubtedly the best rail-runner in the country. He maintained the lead of the race for the first two bends without any competition from the other contenders.
The runner up Longwood Fantasy was defeated by a huge margin of three and three quarters of a length which was no surprise given Taylor Sky’s swiftness at the track.
While Charlie Lister had a glorious Friday owing to Taylor Sky’s performance, Longwood Fantasy’s trainer Colin callow had his share of disappointment in the final given his charge’s performance. Colin Callow is considered among the best greyhound in the
country but when it comes to the combination of Charlie Lister and Taylor there is no match for it.
Chris Allsop’s Freds Champ qualified for the third position in the final. He finished three quarters of a length short of Longwood fantasy. There was a difference of hardly sis points between the second and the third qualifier at the finish line.
Greyhound Ten Large Down trained by D. Henry was the fourth greyhound to finish the race. He crossed the finish line in 28.44 seconds. Ten large Down had a very bumpy race. He got crowded with the other contenders on the first and the second bend of the
race track and then a quarter of a mile before the finish line. There was a significant margin of three and a half lengths between him and the third qualifier when he crossed the wire.
Tonbrie Ji finished the race fifth in 28.86 seconds. He was five and a quarter of a length short of Ten Large down who had finished fourth in the race.
The last greyhound to cross the finish line was Ballymac Well in 31.26seconds. He covered the race track lazily and there is need of a good deal of technique and hard work to be invested in him.
