Charlotte Bobcats defeat Phoenix Suns 114-107 at home
The Suns faced a 107-114 loss at the hands of Charlotte Bobcats at home on 26 January, Wednesday. The game took place at US Airways Centre, Phoenix.
The ball was jumped between starters of both teams, (Suns) Robin Lopez and (Bobcats) Kwame Brown. Grant Hill jumped in to gain possession of the ball for Phoenix Suns. Steve Nash gave the ball in a turnover to the opposition. D. J. Augustin clinched a three-pointer
at the very beginning of the game.
Lopez had a jump shot ready for the Suns to respond with.
Nash’s jumper gave the Suns a one-point lead over the Bobcats at 11 minutes on the clock, 4-3.
The Bobcats shot on a defensive end from their side of the court and had five 3-pointers coming in the first quarter alone.
The Suns defended themselves with a striking game coming from Marcin Gortat and Hill. They trailed Charlotte into the second quarter by five-points, 26-31.
Gerald Henderson committed a shooting foul at the opening of the second quarter that gave two free throws to the Suns.
Jared Dudley grabbed both of them to narrow the gap between the teams, 30-33. Phoenix missed four shots in a frame of a minute while Bobcats kept their offence high.
Still leading, the Bobcats trounced a large number of free throws after Gortat and Vince Carter were fouled. (Suns) Carter clinched a three-pointer that was assisted by Nash to close the first half with a two-point deficit, 57-59.
Hill committed a shooting foul that earned the leading team two more free throws, 61-57, outscoring the Suns. The trailing team reconciled against the opposition and heated up to toss four straight 3-pointers that gave them a 71-69 lead over Charlotte.
They took a break as Nash made a turnaround jump shot and then Channing Frye tossed two more 3’s. The game changed its pace and was tied between the rivals at 79-all. Two more 3-pointers hurled from the Suns after that but Bobcats carried a five-point lead
over them at the end of the third quarter, 92-87.
The last quarter was a real battle between both the titans. Phoenix followed the Bobcats with resolve and opened up their box of 3-pointers again. Charlotte responded with a 3-pointer from Augustin to go 102-95, outscoring them.
Time was running out and Phoenix Suns had a large deficit to cover. Charlotte Bobcats did not let go of the lead and carried it until they finally won, 114-107, against the Phoenix Suns.
