Charlotte Bobcats shortlist three candidates for head coaching job – NBA News
After a long and through hunt for the head coach by the Charlotte Bobcats which included 10 possible candidates, the franchise have now shortlisted three candidates for the position. Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte
Observer reports recently reported;
“The Charlotte Bobcats have narrowed their coaching search to three candidates: Former Utah Jazz coach Jerry Sloan, Indiana Pacers assistant Brian Shaw and Los Angeles Lakers assistant Quin Snyder, an NBA source
confirmed Monday night.”
The shortlisted candidates will now have an interview with team owner Michael Jordan after which he will decide the head coach.

Jerry Sloan is no stranger to Michael Jordan as he was the coach of the Utah Jazz with John Stockton and Karl Malone that faced the Chicago Bulls in many playoff series during the Jordan days. They both have
a great deal of respect for each other and Jordan knows Sloan is a tough coach who likes to instil discipline in a team.
Brian Shaw is one of the best assistant coaches in the league at the moment, and is receiving much attention this year. He was an assistant to Phil Jackson with the Los Angeles Lakers during the era in which
the Lakers won three NBA championships. Shaw was expected to be given the head coaching job after Jackson retired, but the team management went with Mike Brown instead, forcing him to leave the franchise and join the Indiana Pacers.

Shaw served as the assistant Frank Vogel at the Pacers this past season, where the duo managed to turn the season around and led the team to 3rd place in the Eastern conference. In the
playoffs, they went as far as the Eastern Conference Semi Finals and were eliminated by Miami Heat.
Shaw’s work with the Pacers has also been highly appreciated in the NBA, and Frank Vogel went as far as to say that he would be surprised if Shaw did not get a head coaching job after the season finished. The
Orlando Magic are also reportedly also looking to sign Shaw as head coach after they fired Stan Van Gundy at the end of their season.
Quin Snyder is the assistant coach to Mike Brown at the Los Angeles Lakers and is being considered the least favourite among the three to land the job. The Charlotte Bobcats finished the past regular season with
the worst record in NBA history. They are now looking to rebuild their team and bounce back next season.
