Stats
The Celtics won their 10th consecutive win as they trounced the Bobcats.
The game was a little less exciting with none of the teams that bright in the start, Bobcats lacking the spark and the Celtics not fearing them much after halftime.
Angry owner
Michael Jordan’s Bobcats were not that intimidated by the game and later they received a good tongue-lashing for their mediocre performance.
Good play
Allen and Davis rescued the Celtics by dishing out 16 points apiece for them. Garnett added his 11th double-double of the season as he scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in just 23:36 of his play time.
Shooting
As both the teams headed into the fourth quarter none of them exceeded a shooting percentage more than 40. The Boston Celtics later sprang out of that limit and took it up to 43.7.
"Doc does a great job," said O'Neal referring to Celtics coach, Doc Rivers, "of managing the old, antique cars."
Quote it!
"We're beat up right now," Garnett said later referring to his team’s performance. "We're scrambling. We're finding ways to win and we're doing it with defense. ... We get some of our guys back and I think you'll really see who
we are at that point."
Players who were missed
Shaquille O’Neal could not attend the game because he was trying to rest out his sore right calf and he did not even change into his Celtics uniform. Jermaine O’Neal and Kendrick Perkins (Bobcats) were also out and will be till
February with their knee problems, so rookie Erden filled in as the center.
Weak performance
Wallace went scoring nine points only and D. J. Augustin left the Bobcats heartbroken as he could not score any points for his team.
Quarter round up
The whole game was a downfall for the Bobcats. The Celtics scored 20 in the first, 22 in the second and third, and dished out an amazing 29 in the fourth quarter whereas the Bobcats stayed below 20 by scoring 16 in the first and
second, and 15 in the third and fourth.
Better among the worst
The Charlotte Bobcats were on the verge of having a franchise low score until Dominic McGuire netted a basket with 2:05 on the clock. He saved the team from the shame and at least made it to 60 in a rather unimpressive game.
