Minnesota Timberwolves
Charlotte Bobcats overpowered the Minnesota Timberwolves, in an exhibition of intense athleticism, strategy and swiftness. The much missed enthusiasm and power
of Charlotte Bobcats was seen as they beat Minnesota Timberwolves 113-110.It was their foremost win of the season, on home soil, at the Time Warner Cable Arena, Charlotte.
The magnificent duo of Stephen Jackson and Gerald Wallace helped cruise Charlotte Bobcats to victory, scoring 26 points each. Their aura was such that the whole
crowd was behind them doing “the wave” all through the clash. It was a massive crowd totaling to 11,211 and providing immense admiration to the home team.
Although the home team is superior in terms of training and organization, they also pack immense scoring power with ace player Gerald Wallace. But the Minnesota
Timberwolves are not to be undermined as they fought well and were neck-to-neck
in this epic encounter. This was proven when the Timberwolves lead the 1st
quarter by 5 points, but couldn’t capitalize on this advantage in the rest of the game, ending with defeat. For Bobcats, this was a perfect end to a classic basketball season.
However The Bobcats experienced a setback in the 4th
quarter, which gave The Timberwolves an outside chance of winning the game and managing to cruise ahead. But a last-ditch effort saved the day for Charlotte Bobcats. In the perpetual closing minute, Stephen Jackson
scored a three pointer. This was followed by successive points by D.J Augustin, Tyrus Thomas and Wallace. This was, the final nail-in-the coffin, with twenty seconds left on the clock.
Wallace declared:
“It was a satisfying win -- I am feeling that unique satisfaction
one gets when he makes a last second, desperate attempt to redeem himself after
s******g around for a while.”
Minnesota Timberwolves Michael Beasely attained 28 points, only to have two crucial turnovers in the dying minutes of the game. Kevin Love revisited the game later
after a horrific fall and managed to score 20 points, with nine rebounds. It was a marathon battle as Wallace and Beasely fought belligerently at their respective ends. Finally, it was Thomas’s free throw that made charlotte Bobcats victorious.
