  1. FIOS is far superior, Verizon hires quality union people. They have pride in their work. They are not contractors or piece workers. They pay their people by the job so most of them "hack and run" as to get to their next job.

Cable is distributed via coaxial line and the signal is shared by your neighborhood and then brought to a hub where other neighborhoods are connected into and then another where several areas are then connected before it goes to the distribution signal.

FIOS is a glass fiber line from your home directly back to your local central office. You share your signal with nobody!

With FIOS you have your choice of speeds:  10/2, 20/5, 20/20, & 50/20

  2. FiOS, by a longshot. I've used Charter before, and don't recommend it. Their speeds and support are lackluster at best. FiOS is very, very fast, a much better deal for the price.

  3. FiOS blows cable out of the water, and for it's speed, the price is pretty reasonable too.

However, the problem with it is that it's not really available in many places yet.
