Chartering a boat for a family vacation???????????

Question

ok so my family is wanting to take another trip to italy in the upcoming summer. we want to take a chartered boat from florida to italy we wld have 6 guests and we wld like to bring out dogs(4) but we have been having a difficult time finding a company that offers what we want so if you cld include links and an idea of how much it should cost that wld be great thanks in advancce

p.s. if you have done it please share your thoughts or advice

Forget the dogs.   First... the trip you are talking about is going to take a long time.  If you are considering a large enough boat to simply power across the Atlantic in a few days, you are talking about spending enough money to buy a nice little cabin cruiser.  If you are talking about a sailing yacht, it is gonna take you a couple weeks just to get there.

Again, forget the dogs.  They won't be allowed to disembark.  So they will suffer being confined to the boat.

If you are dead set on it and have amassed a five (or six) figure budget for this trip.

A boat that can make that trip with that may people will cost you about $10,000 PER DAY and that is pretty much bottom end.  You don't have a CLUE what you are asking so I would suggest you go to an Agent and make the arrangements.  As a bare minimum you are looking at $300,000 for the trip, but that is just a guess... The final price will probably be $500,000 or more.

That quite an order to fill>Never heard of any charter comp> That would offer what your looking for as it takes an experienced captain & crew> for that long of a voyage> First off the pets are 1 of the hardest to get visas for> And where are they going to go poo at> It's not like there is a place to stop at every night> as it's weeks with out the site of land> Best to fly over and charter a boat there> I think the pets will be a bigger issue as they will be put in quarantine for a time>

Dogs will make it almost impossible. No one wants their teak flooring scratched up by 4 dogs. Are they litter boxed trained? Do you have boat shoes for them? Leave the dogs at home and you will have a much better trip!
