Chartering a helicopter (prom)?

my friend and i would like to charter a helicopter to collect us from prom at about 12am.

prom is being held at a restaurant surrounded by fields so landing isn't a problem but is it possible for this helicopter to pick us up + take us to a heliport where we'll be picked up and driven to an after party?

bearing in mind we're in Scotland

any info would be appreciated...

thanks

ALSO!!!

any ideas about cost for this, we know it'd be expensive but it's not really an issue... but any info would be helpful!

  1. Not sure about scottland, but in the US its quite exspensive depending on the amount of people. You may be able to find a small helicopter school that will allow you to charter the aircraft, but the time of 12am may make  this almost impossible, and they usually only have 2 seat helicopoters used for training. To charter a heli for more than one person, or any turbine powered will be around 3000.00 an hour with a 1hr flight min. This includes the time to fly to pick you up, and the time to fly back. If you want to heli to wait for you, plan on around anywhere from 250-500.00 an hour to be on standby.

Honestly, Prom is overrated, and this amount of money to impress a date on prom is a little crazy. Just get a strech limo for you and your friends, for about 50.00 a person. Better than 1500.00 a person, or 3000.00 for you since your prolly paying..

  2. If expense isn't an issue, call up any helicopter charter company and ask them.  Also, just because they have fields doesn't mean a helicopter can land there.  Some areas require approval, and that's not easy to get.  The rules are pretty strict here in the US, and I'm sure it's worse in your country.  Just call a helicopter charter company and ask them.  They may want to see the landing field in the daytime, and make sure there aren't any wires around.  They may not think it's safe either, especially at night.  Good luck.
