So basically Im charting my temp, this morning I took my temp and it was 36.35, but then i thought there was something wrong with the thermometer, so i switched it off and on again and 2 mins later took my temperature again and the reading jumped to 36.43! I did NOT move, speak or even budge, as soon as i took the first temp i took it again.

My question is which temp should i use? Why did it jump so high 2 mins later?

  1. the first temperature definately, and it hasn't jumped so high in 2 mins - only .08 of a degree, it can do that by just waking up and starting thinking about taking your temperature! Your temperatures are right for pre-ovulation, after ovulation they should go up to around 36.6 to 36.9. Good luck

  2. Use the earlier one.  Even tho you didn't get up or move you were still 'up' as it were and even that small amount of movement will have got your metabolism going and your temp rising.  I did that a couple of times and just carried on with the earlier temp.  It's not a huge rise, not even 1 degree, but I'd go with the earlier one

Have you checked www.fertilityfriend.com?  I used then to chart my BBT and it made it really easy to read it!
