  1. When you're not ovulating, your cervix feels like a firm bump (same texture as the tip of your nose). It's in the "low" position, meaning it's easier to feel. When you're ovulating, it gets softer and flatter ("high" position) and feels more like your lips. If you do it every day, you'll start to notice some differences, although mine feels "low" and firm most days of the month, and "high" and soft only a day or two. The most important things are (1) don't stress about it! and (2) wash your hands first. Feel for it while sitting/standing in the same position you'd use to insert a tampon (on the toilet or with one foot up, or squatting--whatever works for you). Mine is hard to feel while I'm lying down.

And you know how sometimes you have s*x and it feels like you're being "bumped" inside, and other times it doesn't? That's partly your cervical position.

You probably know that this is the LEAST reliable method after cervical mucus and BBT. I check mine because I don't produce a lot of CM, and because it's yet another something to do.

Fertilityfriend.com and tcoyf.com can give you some additional tips. Good luck!

  2. It works for me, I don't chart it, I just know when I am fertile because I get a big glob of egwcm.

  3. It can be complicated to locate your ovulation pattern.

It is easier to start having sexual intimacy during or directly after your period and continuing every three or four days throughout the month. Best wishes, G
