Chase Kalisz earns Men’s 200m IM gold – Junior Pan Pacific Championships
Chase Kalisz of USA earned gold medal of the Men’s 200m Individual Medley (IM) on fourth day of the 2012 Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championships in Honolulu, Hawaii on Sunday, August 26.
The American teenage veteran lived up to the expectations of his fans by dominating the playoff of the 200m discipline. With his relentless efforts, he remained in a considerably lead over his opponents and tapped the wall for gold medal.
He continued his nerve-wrecking form from the start and transpired on the finishing blockade for gold medal by touching the wall with a wonderful timing of 1 minute and 59.51 seconds.
With his astonishing efforts, he remained 0.82 seconds faster from his following swimmer, Daiya Seto of Japan, who made his way to the victory stand for silver medal by producing a time of 2 minutes and 00.33 seconds.
Seto was followed by his teammate, Keita Sunama, who stayed 0.28 seconds slower from overpowering him and finished his race in third best place by producing a time of 2 minutes and 00.61 seconds.
Sunama was trailed by Ty Stewart of USA, who stayed 0.84 seconds slower and emerged on the finishing blockade for fourth position by reporting a time of 2 minutes and 01.45 seconds.
Similarly, Stewart remained more than two body lengths ahead of Jared Gilliland of Australia, who secured fifth fastest spot of the race by reporting a time of 2 minutes and 03.76 seconds.
Sixth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Evan White of Canada, who remained 0.74 seconds slower from his former finisher and hit the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 04.50 seconds.
White was chased by Eugene Tee of Australia, who stayed one and a half body length behind and occupied seventh position of the event by reporting an effort of 2 minutes and 06.04 seconds.
Tee was followed by Jonathan Brown of Canada, who was only a touch apart and ended his race in eighth place by posting a time of 2 minutes and 06.13 seconds.
In addition, Kalisz expressed happiness over his victory after the event.
