Chase Kalisz secures Men’s 400 yards IM gold – AT&T Winter National Championships
Chase Kalisz of NBACMD secured gold medal of the Men’s 400 yards Individual Medley (IM) on second day of the 2012 AT&T Winter National Championships in Austin, TX, USA on Friday, November 30.
Kalisz showed no mercy to his challengers in the 16-lap discipline and transpired on the finishing wall the crown.
With his notable form in the race, Kalisz enjoyed a prominent lead over his closest swimmer and reached the finishing wall for gold medal with a nice timing of 3 minutes and 43.06 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Austen Thompson of FORDAZ, who stayed 1.54 seconds apart and surfaced on the finishing end for silver medal by clocking a wonderful time of 3 minutes and 44.60 seconds.
Thompson was followed by Alexander Tikhonov of TROJCA, who was 0.72 seconds slower from his foregoing and tapped the wall for third position by touching the wall with the timing of 3 minutes and 45.32 seconds.
Similarly, Tikhonov was traced by Gunnar Bentz of DYNAGA, who was only half a body length slower from his former finisher and reached the wall for fourth position by submitting a time of 3 minutes and 45.81 seconds.
Fifth fastest spot of the event was obtained by Andrew Seliskar of NCAPPV, who stayed nearly two strokes slower from his foregoing finisher and reached the wall with an effort of 3 minutes and 46.13 seconds.
Sixth spot of the race was obtained by Matt Thompson of UN01PC, who stayed almost two body lengths slower from his preceding swimmer and touched the finishing end with an effort of 3 minutes and 47.87 seconds.
Thompson was traced by Max Williamson of CLPROH, who stayed almost 1.50 seconds slower and reported an effort of 3 minutes and 49.30 seconds.
Williamson was trailed by Samuel Rowan of FORDAZ, who was 1.41 seconds slower and tapped the wall for eighth position with an effort of 3 minutes and 50.71 seconds.
In addition, Kalisz was extremely happy with his notable form and articulated that he would train harder in future to excel in the same discipline at the upcoming competitions.
