Los Angeles Clippers not expecting Chauncey Billups to return until November

Chauncey Billups has shown intentions to be ready for the start of the season but the Los Angeles Clippers do not expect the veteran point guard to be ready by then.
Billups is recovering from an Achilles injury he suffered back in February and the 36 year old cannot be expected to be fully fit until November. This does put a huge bump in the Clippers hopes to start off next season on a high
note as other key players on their roster are also recovering from various injuries.
Chris Paul is expected to be back midway during training camp while Blake Griffin is recovering from a knee injury; he suffered during the Las Vegas training camp for Olympics, and would be making his return at a very slow pace.
Lamar Odom, another key signing made during the summer, is still trying to get back in basketball shape and has not played a game since April 7th. Having six new players to adjust into the rotation does not offer any
help what so ever to the Clippers cause, even if the injury woes are put aside.
Martell Webster set to play for the Washington Wizards

According to sources close to the matter, Martell Webster has agreed terms on a new contract with the Washington Wizards. The details of the agreement have not been revealed but the 25 year old is set to join his third team as
a free agent.
Webster was waived off by the Minnesota Timberwolves on July 13th as they looked to clear up cap space for the acquisition of Andrei Kirilenko. He only played 47 games for the Wolves last season and averaged 6.9 points.
At the moment, Webster is recovering from a back surgery.  Prior to playing for the Wolves, Webster spent 5 seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers and holds a career average of 8.4 points per game. In his last season for the Blazers,
he put up 9.4 points per game in the only playoff appearance of his career.
Webster’s addition will add a veteran presence to the Wizards, who are desperate to finally make it big.
