Chavo Guerrero vs. JTG on WWE Superstars: The ‘Mexican Warrior’ Emerges the Victor
It was the fighter from Mexico, the nephew of the legendary Hall of Famer Eddie Guerrero, the great Chavo Guerrero, who had his match with the street fighting champion from NY, JTG. Chavo Guerrero has been a big champion in the past, as he fought some big matches as the tag team partner of Eddie Guerrero. In 2002, he won the World Tag Team Wrestling Championship with Eddie as his partner.
However, the Mexican fighter hit quite the dry spell as he not only failed to score a big win, but lost many matches recently on Friday Night SmackDown. Chavo Guerrero, the self-proclaimed ‘Mexican Warrior’, has wrestling in his blood as his grandfather Gory Guerrero was a great wrestler. The wrestling career of Chavo reached its peak in 2008, when the Mexican fighter won the prestigious ECW Championship after pinning the Straight Edge hero, CM Punk. Chavo Guerrero had a chance to bring back his glory days when it was announced that he would have a match with the JTG on WWE Superstars.
JTG comes from Brooklyn, New York, and has his own interesting background. JTG, who has never won wrestling gold, considers himself the future of professional wrestling. JTG was brought up in New York streets as a tough street fighter. The peak of JTG’s career came when he and his tag partner in Cryme Tyme, Shad, defeated the Tag Team champions, Johnny Jeter and Mikey Brendli of The Spirit Squad, in a non title match. After the break up of his tag team, JTG has been trying hard to make a solid impact in the world of professional wrestling. This match came as a huge opportunity for JTG, as he knew that defeating the Mexican warrior would establish his authority in and outside the ring.
The match started as JTG trapped Chavo Guerrero in a vicious headlock. He applied pressure to Guerrero’s head so that the Mexican Warrior could tap out. JTG then turned to electrifying offence and started delivering punches to the face of Chavo Guerrero. Chavo Guerrero replied with a hard kick to the jaw of the fighter from New York. Both wrestlers delivered punches and kicks to the others’ bodies, and it was hard to determine the wrestler gaining momentum during that part of the match.
JTG then proved his dominance as he banged Chavo Guerrero’s face on the corner of the ring and then threw him to the boundary wall. JTG then picked up Chavo Guerrero and took him inside the ring. However, before JTG could enter the ring, Chavo Guerrero executed a fine vertical drop kick to the abdomen of his opponent. The competition was heating up as Chavo Guerrero went for the cover and the referee started counting to three. But before the referee could finish his three count, JTG raised his shoulder indicating that he still had energy to fight during the match. Then JTG showed his street fighting skills as he ran fast in the ring to build some momentum and then rolled in the air before banging his shoulder into the abdomen of Chavo Guerrero.
Then all of a sudden, the Mexican Warrior tossed JTG in the air and banged him on the ring. That was an ideal position for Chavo Guerrero to execute his wrestling finisher. Chavo Guerrero climbed the steel ring post and prepared himself for the signature move, the ‘Frog Splash’. Chavo Guerrero jumped in the air and landed on the abdomen of JTG, causing a severe blow to JTG. It was all over as the referee counted to three with both shoulders of JTG touching the ring floor.
The win came as a huge opportunity for Chavo Guerrero, who is looking to revive his glory days. After this win, Chavo Guerrero is newly determined to hold the Intercontinental Championship gold title around his waist.
