Question:

Cheap, Home Theater System?

I'm looking for a really cheap, home theater speaker system that sounds great.

There's no T.V. going to be hooked up to it, I just want to have "nice" looking speakers, 5.1, with a Radio Tuner / USB / Ipod dock... and for under ~230$?

I'm going to be hanging everything on the walls in a small room, is this possible?

Links are appreciated, thanks!

  1. Try www.walmart.com these are inexpensive.

I think it is possible to hang certain components on the wall such as the smaller speakers. But you won't be able to hang everything. Of course the subwoofer needs to be on the floor hidden somewhere. The receiver is going to have to put on something unless you have the vertical type - but i think those are more expensive.

  2. No offence but $230 will get you a dissappointment. If you want something with good sound for that price just get a shelf stereo system. You can find stereos that look nice, have radio tuners and ipod docks etc. It will have good sound and power.

If your still set on a surround sound system for that mere of a price you are going to have to be happy with poor sound cheap hardware. Though surround sound is meant to go with a TV for movie experiences. Though there are systems you can get around $230, but when you say good looking speakers, do you have preferences like silver vs black finishes, removables grills, etc.

Anyways I found products on amazon with customer reviews.

This looks like it has good sound and a sleak reciever. $219

This one is very very good for the price of $237

I think you can add a ipod dock to these aswell like this one (kind of expensive but look very sleak)
