Cheap, gas efficient car?

im in high school and im about to start driving. what is a cheap, (6000 tops), very gas efficient car that i can use throughout highschool? and preferably a nice looking car lol. thanks

2001-2003 Honda Civic HX with 5-speed manual (reliable and gets abut 44 MPG real world). The LX is also a good choice, but only gets about 38-40 MPG on the highway.

2003 Corolla CE... I am sure you can find a stripped down 2003 Toyota Corolla CE with high miles now for around 6,000. The Corolla is super reliable and gets about 40 MPG on the highway with the 5-speed manual.

The 2002-2004 Nissan Sentra with its 1.8 is fairly efficient and reliable, but it's really ugly.

Jimbo, see if you can find a Toyota Carola or Camry that is in good shape and in your price range that has 60-70,000 miles on it. Honda Civics are a possibility, too.
